Rautaruukki reorganizes operations in Russia

Finnish steelmaker Rautaruukki's construction solutions division announced that it is reorganizing its operations in Russia. The lease of Taldom plant near Moscow will run out in February 2004. Accordingly, the company will stop production at Taldom. This closure is going to affect 44 employees. Company officials expressed that production at Taldom will be compensated partially by production at St Petersburg plant and also by reinforcing retail sales in Russia. The company is also seeking for alternative plants in Moscow for production.
