Italian crude steel output up slightly in September

Italian producers' crude steel output increased by 1.1 percent year on year in September this year to 2.208 million mt, as per the latest report issued by the Italian steel association Federacciai. The output had decreased by 26.6 percent in August this year, marking the highest year-on-year decrease since September 2017.

In the first nine months of 2019, Italian crude steel production amounted to 17.621 million mt, down 3.9 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the January-August period, Italy's long steel output amounted to 8.085 million mt, decreasing by 0.7 percent year on year. In the same period, Italian flat steel output totaled 7.299 million metric tons, declining by 1.7 percent year on year.
