Italian crude steel output resumes downtrend in October

After increasing by 1.1 percent year on year in September this year, Italian producers' crude steel output resumed its previous downtrend in October, decreasing by 3.7 percent year on year to 2.225 million mt, as per the latest report issued by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai.

In the first ten months of 2019, Italian crude steel production amounted to 19.845 million mt, down 3.8 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the January-September period, Italy's long steel output amounted to 9.216 million mt, decreasing by 0.4 percent year on year. In the same period, Italian flat steel output totaled 8.280 million metric tons, declining by 1.2 percent year on year.
