Italian crude steel output down 4.9 percent in January

Italian crude steel output amounted to 1.874 million mt in January this year, down 4.9 percent from the January 2019 output, according to the Italian steel producers association Federacciai.

In comparison, Italian crude steel output had totaled 2.031 million mt in January 2018, 1.917 million mt in January 2017, and 1.818 million mt in January 2016.

Despite the decrease in the total crude steel output in January this year, in the same month Italy's long steel output amounted to 873,000 metric tons, up 2.8 percent, while its flat steel output totaled 886,000 metric tons, up 0.5 percent, both year on year.
