Hebei Province sees 65.8% rise in finished steel exports in Jan-Sept

In the first nine months of the current year, crude steel and pig iron outputs in China's Hebei Province amounted to 144.5639 million mt and 132.8671 million mt respectively, down 2.73 percent and 4.33 percent year on year, according to local media sources. During the same period, overall crude steel and pig iron production in China amounted to 618 million mt and 542.37 million mt, up 2.3 percent and 0.4 percent year on year, respectively.

In the January-September period, Hebei Province produced 2.2114 million mt of cold rolled sheet, 1.2319 million mt of ultra-heavy plates and 2.3371 million mt of cold rolled strip, indicating increases of 41.06 percent, 33.76 percent and 27.46 percent, respectively, year on year.

Meanwhile, in the given period, Hebei Province exported 17.8347 million mt of finished steel, with a total value of $10.57 billion, up 65.81 percent and 48.18 percent year on year, respectively, accounting for 27.25 percent of China's total finished steel export volume during the same period, ranking in first place for finished steel exports among all provinces and cities in China.
