German metal manufacturing turnover up 2.4% in Apr from Mar

In April this year, the seasonally and working-day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry increased by 0.5 percent compared to March, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). The working day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing sector in April this year increased by 2.5 percent compared to April 2013. Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year, the turnover in the German manufacturing industry increased by four percent on year-on-year basis.

In April of the current year, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing increased by 2.4 percent from March, with domestic sales increasing by 0.1 percent and foreign sales up by 6.3 percent, month on month. In April, an increase of 0.3 percent was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products in Germany, with domestic sales increasing by 0.2 percent and foreign sales up by 0.5 percent, both compared to the previous month.
