In August this year, the seasonally and working-day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry remained stable compared to the previous month, following a revised month-on-month increase of 1.7 percent in July, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
In August, the greatest month-on-month turnover increase in German manufacturing sectors was for manufacturers of motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts with 3.9 percent. The turnover decreased in domestic sales by 3.5 percent while it rose 8.4 percent in foreign sales.
In August, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing decreased 4.5 percent as compared to July, with domestic sales decreasing by six percent, while foreign sales were down by two percent, month on month. Meanwhile, a slight 0.3 percent month-on-month decrease was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products, with domestic sales decreasing 1.3 percent and foreign sales up by 1.6 percent, both compared to the previous month.
