According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), in January this year France's new industrial orders received, excepting heavy tranport vehicles, increased slightly by 0.7 percent month on month. In December last year, a revised month-on-month decrease of 0.2 percent was registered.
Meanwhile, in January, export orders increased by 0.6 percent as compared to the previous month.
In January, industrial orders in the domestic metallurgical industry fell by 1.9 percent as compared to the previous month, while industrial orders in the manufacture of metal products except machinery increased by 1.1 percent as compared to December. In January, industrial orders in France's automotive industry rose by 0.9 percent as compared to the previous month, after a month-on-month increase of 8.6 percent recorded in December 2011.
