Explosion rocks Gerdau’s Tennessee mill, injures six

An explosion Thursday night at Gerdau’s Knoxville, Tennessee mill injured six workers, including one who was reportedly critically burned.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the explosion, and in a statement, Gerdau said: "The company is committed to worker safety and is working with the proper authorities to determine the root cause of the incident.”.

It was not clear at press time how production at the mill will be affected.
