In October this year, new commercial vehicle registrations increased by 10.8 percent year on year in the
European Union, totaling 176,913 units, registering growth for the 14th consecutive month, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). The month counted on average the same number of working days across the region compared to the same month of the previous year. Looking at the major markets,
Spain (+41.2 percent), the
UK (+27.1 percent) and
Italy (+16.3 percent) and
Germany (+9.6 percent) posted increases, while new commercial vehicle registrations in
France decreased by 6.4 percent, all on year-on-year basis.
In the first 10 months of the current year, demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU was up 9.8 percent year on year, with 1,529,508 new registrations.
Spain (+33.5 percent),
Italy (+17 percent), the
UK (+13.9 percent) and
Germany (+7.8 percent) recorded increases, though
France saw a 0.4 percent decrease in commercial vehicle registrations compared to the same period last year.
