European commercial vehicle registrations up 13.7% in Feb

In February this year, new commercial vehicle registrations grew by 13.7 percent year on year in the European Union, totaling 125,241 units, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). The month counted on average the same number of working days across the region compared to the same month of the previous year. Looking at the major markets, Spain (+49.2 percent), Germany (+19.6 percent), the UK (+16.3 percent) and Italy (+13.3 percent) all posted double-digit increases, while France recorded a 2.9 percent year on year rise in the given month.
 
In the first two months of the current year, demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU was up 8.7 percent year on year, with 257,509 new registrations. Spain (+47.1 percent), Italy (+12.7 percent), Germany (+11.0 percent) and the UK (+9.4 percent) recorded increases in vehicle registrations compared to the January-February period of 2013, while France (-1.1 percent) saw its market decline on year-on-year basis
