EU-27 steel imports down 17.6 percent in November from October

According to the European steel association EUROFER, in November last year flat steel imports into the European Union (EU-27) totaled 865,000 mt, while long steel imports amounted to 250,000 mt. Accordingly, overall EU-27 steel imports in November totaled 1.137 million mt, down 17.6 percent month on month and decreasing by 18.84 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In addition, in the first 11 months of last year EU-27 total steel imports amounted to 18.768 million mt, increasing by 29.2 percent compared to the same period of 2010.
