Swedish basic metal output up 6.9% in April over March

In Sweden, industrial production decreased by 0.5 percent in April this year compared to March, and fell 0.8 percent year on year in working day-adjusted figures, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB). SCB said that, after two months of marginal increases, industrial production turned slightly downwards in April. On month-on-month basis, new orders for Swedish industry decreased 10.3 percent in April after the big increase in March. In March, new orders increased by 1.7 percent in working day-adjusted figures compared to the same month of the previous year.

On the other hand, the production index for the Swedish basic metal industry increased 6.9 percent in April this year compared to the previous month, while in April the production of the country's basic metal industry decreased by 3.3 percent year on year.

On the other hand, in April new orders for basic metals in Sweden increased 6.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, driven by the 16.1 percent increase in export orders. Meanwhile, new orders for the Swedish fabricated metal products industry, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 17.8 percent in April on year-on-year basis.
