Turkey's rebar exports down slightly in Sept from Aug

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 626,339 metric tons, decreasing by 6.41 percent year on year and down 0.26 percent from the previous month.  Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $363.89 million, falling by 11.34 percent compared to September 2012 and down 0.92 percent from the previous month.

On the other hand, in the first nine months of the current year, Turkey's rebar exports stood at 5.95 million metric tons, down 5.06 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $3.49 billion, decreasing by 12.37 percent as compared to January-September 2012.

In September this year, the largest rebar export destination for Turkey was the UAE with exports amounting to 124,084 metric tons. The UAE was followed by Iraq with 115,082 metric tons and Saudi Arabia with 59.429 metric tons. Meanwhile, in the first nine months of the year, Iraq remained Turkey's top rebar export destination, receiving 1.1 million metric tons.
