Confidence index for Italian construction sector plummets in June

In June this year, the seasonally adjusted confidence index for the Italian construction sector decreased to 71 points, down 12.3 percent from 81 points in May, according to Italy's national statistics office Istat . The June reading is the lowest recorded since early 2010.

In June, the confidence index decreased by 28.7 percent in the field of civil engineering, it declined by 24.5 percent in the building construction sector, while it was down by 10.6 percent in specialized construction works, all on month-on month basis.
