Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has stated that it has completed its program for the replacement of imports of large diameter (LD) pipes with three-layer rustproof polyethylene coverings jointly with Rosnano and Gazprom.

ChTPZ has started batch production of large diameter pipes with the three-layer rustproof polyethylene cover on the basis of nano-modified materials made by the designer company of Rosnano, Methaclay. The designed unique materials will replace imported materials in the Russian market.

The first buyer of the Russian nano-tech pipes will be Gazprom. The results of the field testing of the first trial batch of the large diameter pipes indicate that the products meet the technical norms and standards of Gazprom, Gazprom VNIIGAZ reports.
