Automotive production (cars, trucks and buses) in Brazil reached 183,000 units in July, 3.3 percent less than in June and 16.4 percent less than in July 2022.

Domestic sales totaled 225,600 units in July, 19.0 percent more than in June and 24.0 percent more than in July 2022. Exports in July totaled 30,300 units, 17.1 percent less than in June and 27.6 percent less than in July 2022.

According to Marcio de Lima Leite, president of the sector association Anfavea, the increase of domestic sales in July reflects the positive impact of the government tax credit program, resulting in the higher monthly sales since December 2020, or the best July since 2019.

During the first seven months of the year, the automotive production in Brazil reached 1.315 million units, a 0.3 percent increase on yearly basis, while domestic sales increased by 11.3 percent to 1.224 million units and exports declined by 10.6 percent to 257,600 units.
