Baosteel to start main construction work on Zhanjiang project before June

On May 16, more than 160 employees of Zhanjiang Iron and Steel Co., a subsidiary of Chinese steelmaking giant Baosteel, showed up for work at Baosteel's Zhanjiang project - an indication that Baosteel is about to commence the main construction work on its Zhanjiang project according to Zhanjiang media sources.


An official from Baosteel Group confirmed in an interview that the main construction work on the project in question will start before June.


To date, Baosteel has invested RMB 4 billion ($613.5 million) in its Zhanjiang project.
