Turkish official merchant bar export prices fall slightly

Over the past week, a few Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have cut their export offers by $10/mt on the lower end to $590-630/mt FOB, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment. Currently, official ex-Turkey equal angle offers are mostly standing at $590-630/mt FOB, for November shipment. The gap between export offers has widened as a few re-rollers are applying aggressive pricing policies.

The SteelOrbis daily Turkish billet import reference price is available at $485-520/mt, falling by $10/mt on the lower end over the same period. Demand is somewhat better for merchant bar and beam exports, specifically to the Balkan region, SteelOrbis has heard.
