During the past two weeks, demand for Turkish merchant bar in the export markets has remained weak, while Turkish merchant bar export offers have moved up. Despite the weak demand conditions, it has been observed that Turkish merchant bar export prices have increased due to the rises seen in global scrap prices and ex-China billet offers.
Turkish merchant bar export prices have increased by $25/mt in the period in question to the following levels:
