Turkish merchant bar producers have been revising their prices following the billet price announcement made on the morning of October 22. Although the prices have been falling on a US dollar basis, the TRY prices are not being affected due to the US$/TRY exchange rate. As of today, October 22, the merchant bar prices in this market, depending on size, thickness and region, are at the following levels: small IPN-UPN are priced at TRY 850-880/mt ($519-538/mt, angles stand at TRY 850-880/mt ($519-538/mt), and flat bars and square bars are at TRY 850-890/mt ($519-544/mt) - all prices are ex-works, on actual weight basis and excluding VAT.
