According to market sources, Turkish producers' domestic billet prices have remained stable during the past week at $355-360/mt ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT. Meanwhile, Turkish producers have increased their purchases of imports of both scrap and billet and so demand for locally produced billet has slowed down. Turkish buyers still continue to purchase Chinese billet since Chinese offers, which are currently at $305-330/mt CFR, are still more attractive than the prices of locally produced billet.
