Buyers in UAE wait for new offers from Turkish rebar producers

According to market sources, the local UAE rebar market is still lively in terms of demand and transaction activity, while prices have not seen much change week on week, standing at AED 1,845-1,850/mt ($503-504/mt) delivered.

Demand for imported rebar in the UAE seems rather slack these days. UAE-based market sources report that stock levels are quite high, while no new ex-Turkey rebar deals have been concluded yet. With Turkish producers' most recent rebar offers at $440-442/mt CFR on theoretical weight basis not attracting much demand in the UAE market, Turkish exporters still have not issued a new price range for buyers in the UAE. Some representatives from Turkish steel producers are expected to visit UAE-based customers this week and determine their prices in the following days in line with their discussions.
