US domestic mills continue to push for higher prices on 0.012”x40.875” G30 and 0.019" x 48" G90 hot dipped galvanized grades, but SteelOrbis sources say that domestic buyers have other things in mind. Namely, they are turning their sights to more attractive import pricing from Indian and Chinese mills, whose prices are unchanged in the past seven days. The same holds true for 0.019x41.5625 Gr80/AZ55 grades of Galvalume.
Trader sources say there is still quite a bit of market chatter in terms of a potential antidumping/countervailing duty case, and at this point, the big question is not if, but when. Although some believed the case filing could have come as soon as the close of last week, others speculate the actual filing will come in the summer.
