The most commonly reported ex-mill spot price for US domestic cold rolled coil has held steady at approximately $28-$29 cwt. ($617-$639/mt or $560-$580/nt), ex-Midwest mill since our last report a week ago, but SteelOrbis sources point out that just because ex-mill spot prices haven’t changed that’s not to say there aren’t a handful of distributors that are selling below that range. “People are still trying to turn over their high priced inventory just to get rid of it,” according to one Midwest-based source. “Some places are definitely selling it cheap.”
