Greek flat steel market quiet

In the Greek domestic flat steel market, where prices have been on a gradual downtrend, demand has remained low. Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the local market are at $570/mt CIF, while hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices are standing at $780/mt CIF.

Meanwhile local producer Hellenic Steel's domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) and HDG offers are determinant for the market, and so the current import offers have not gained much interest. Nevertheless, the Middle Eastern origin HRC offers to Greece are at €460/mt ($593/mt) CIF, though these offers have failed to attract Greek buyers' attention as less expensive prices are available in the domestic market.
