Chinese flat steel export offer prices are now at higher levels than they were one week ago. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm hot rolled coil (HRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $460-480/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm cold rolled coil (CRC) given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $505-525/mt FOB.
In the first part of the past week, flat steel export offer prices indicated a sharp rising trend, while they have indicated corrections in the latter part of the week due to the impact of sharp declines in ferrous metal futures prices in China and declines in finished steel prices in the Chinese domestic market. It is thought that flat steel export offer prices from China will likely indicate a slight downtrend in the coming week following previous sharp increases.
