Chinese flat steel export offer prices have indicated a slight uptrend for some products over the past week, namely for hot rolled coil (HRC), hot rolled plate (HRP) and shipbuilding plate, while prices of other products have remained stable. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm hot rolled coil (HRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $425-435/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm cold rolled coil (CRC) given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $450-460/mt FOB.
During the given week, the rebound in semi-finished and finished steel prices in the Chinese domestic market have provided support for Chinese flat steel export offer prices. However, demand from overseas buyers for Chinese flat steel has not improved. It is thought that Chinese flat steel export offer prices will likely move sideways in the coming week.
