During the week ending November 5, Chinese hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) export offers have indicated a declining trend. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm HRC given by Chinese suppliers are at $260-270/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm CRC given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $300-310/mt FOB.
During the given week, although Chinese HRC and CRC export prices have indicated a downward trend, transaction activity by foreign buyers has been slack.
Recent declines in export offer prices have caused some Chinese steelmakers to incur losses, while the sluggish domestic finished steel market and the soft trend of iron ore prices have negatively impacted HRC and CRC export offer prices.
