During the week ending August 28, Chinese export offers for flat steel products have mostly moved on a stable trend, with declines only seen in CRC export prices. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm hot rolled coil (HRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $305-315/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm cold rolled coil (CRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $350-360/mt FOB.
During the given week, demand from downstream users has remained slack and iron ore prices have moved on a weak trend, resulting in a slight downtrend in CRC export offer prices. It is expected that demand from the overseas markets will improve in September, while time is needed to see whether this will be sufficient to push up export offer prices.
