According to local sources, Brazilian slabs producers are optimistic when it comes to prices for the next export deals, covering the first shipments of December.

Initial estimates were for such next deals framed by $535/mt, FOB conditions, which was the price that was closed for the last shipments of November.

But with increased internal demand from companies of the same group, to feed their rolling activities, the Brazilian slabs exporters will be left with less material available for exports, pointing to perspectives of increased export prices.

This is coupled to positive expectations for increased demand from the US, which is expected to further help increasing the prices, raising now expectations to a target in the $545/mt to $550/mt FOB range.
