On June 28, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced its decision in the Federal Register to rescind the antidumping (AD) duty administrative review for circular welded carbon steel pipes and tubes from Thailand.

The period of investigation was from March 1, 2009 through February 28, 2010 and was to cover one producer/exporter of the subject merchandise to the United States, namely, Saha Thai Steel Pipe (Public) Company, Ltd.

The DOC's regulations provide that the department will rescind an administrative  review if the party that requested the review withdraws its request for review within 90 days of the date of publication of the notice of initiation. On May 28, 2010, Saha Thai submitted a letter withdrawing its request for the review within the 90-day deadline. No other party requested a
review of the order. Therefore, the DOC rescinded the administrative review in question.

The DOC will issue appropriate assessment instructions to US Customs and Border Protection 15 days after the date of publication of its notice.
