On December 27, 2006, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) initiated an antidumping duty administrative review on certain hot rolled carbon steel flat products imported from Romania. The period of review is November 1, 2005, through October 31, 2006.

In the preliminary results dated August 9, 2007, the DOC determined that Romanian producer Mittal Steel Galati (MS Galati) made sales to the US market below normal value during the period of review. Accordingly, a preliminary weighted-average dumping margin of 11.02 percent was set for MS Galati.

Upon the comments received, the DOC has made changes in the margin calculation; however, it has not resulted in a change in the preliminary margin. Accordingly, the final weighted-average dumping margin for MS Galati is 11.02 percent.
