Romania's sole flat steel producer and local flat steel traders have decided to keep their prices unchanged in the past week, though weak trade activity and other negative factors in the Romanian and wider European flats markets have been exerting further downward pressure.
There is no change in terms of either demand or price and everybody is postponing due to expectations for more price decreases,” a representative of the sole domestic producer told SteelOrbis
As a result, prices for domestic origin hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) in Romania have stabilized at €790/mt ex-works and €885/mt ex-works respectively.
Likewise, Romanian traders' pricing for hot rolled sheet (HRS) and cold rolled sheet (CRS) have remained the same week on week at €860-870/mt ex-warehouse and €980-1,010/mt ex-warehouse, respectively.
Furthermore, in the coated steel segment, domestic market offers for HDG and PPGI have remained stable week on week at €1,030/mt ex-works and €1,280/mt ex-works, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the import segment, there have been some offers from Ukraine for HRS and CRS at around €770/mt and €860/mt, respectively, both DAP Romanian border, sources reported.
