Ukraine’s Interpipe to increase steel pipe output by 16.5 percent in 2011

Ukrainian steel pipe and railway wheel producer Interpipe plans to increase its steel pipe production in the current year by 16.5 percent year on year to 990,000 mt. In particular, the company will produce around 750,000 mt of seamless pipes and 240,000 mt of welded pipes, up 15.4 percent and 20 percent respectively compared to 2010. Also, in 2011, Interpipe intends to increase production of railway wheels by 18.8 percent year on year to 190,000 mt.

In 2012, Interpipe expects to see a 15 percent year-on-year rise in its steel pipe output to 1.14 million mt.

The full capacity of 1.32 million mt per year of steelmaking complex Dneprostal, a subsidiary of Interpipe, is expected to be reached in 2014. The complex expects to produce 700,000 mt of steel in 2012 and 1.2 million mt in 2013.
