The Ukrainian pipe and railway wheel producer Interpipe Corporation has announced that it has strengthened its position in the energy market in the Middle East by gaining prequalifications from the region's leading oil and gas companies.

Accordingly, in the first half of 2010, Interpipe gained prequalifications from the Ministry of Oil and Gas of the Sultanate of Oman, the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO, UAE), the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC, Egypt), as well as from the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC, Kuwait). The product range approved as a result of prequalification includes pipes for exploration, extraction and the transportation of oil and gas.

"Prequalification from leading oil and gas companies based in the Gulf is a major component of Interpipe's business development. It is hugely exciting to become an official supplier to leading companies in the region, enabling us to set new horizons for the company and giving us an opportunity to extend our customer base and improve our sales geography. Interpipe is also included in the list of potential suppliers to major oil company Saudi Aramco (Saudi Arabia)," Interpipe product and resource management director Fadi Hraibi commented.
