The Turkish seamless pipe market has remained sluggish over the past month due to poor demand from end-users amid the unfavorable economic situation in the country. Under such conditions, most foreign suppliers have continued to lower their seamless pipe prices for Turkey.

Over the past month, offers of Chinese seamless pipes to Turkey have decreased by a maximum of $10/mt. Import quotations of Ukrainian seamless pipes have declined by $25-45/mt, while offers of Russian material have moved down by $20-90/mt. At the same time, import quotations of Romanian material have increased by $80-85/mt over the past month amid fluctuations in the value of the euro and higher production costs.

Market insiders believe that sentiment in the Turkish seamless pipe market will hardly improve in the short term.

Chinese suppliers are offering seamless pipes of 2"-8" grade B made to ASTM to the Turkish market in the price range of $810-860/mt CFR, while 18"-28" pipes are quoted at around $1,050-1,100/mt CFR.

October-November production pipes from Ukrainian producer Interpipe of 2"-8" grade B as per ASTM A106 are being offered to the Turkish market at about $1,050-1,105/mt CFR, while pipes with 60.3-168.3 mm diameter of steel grade 10, 20 made to GOST are quoted at around $1,030-1,080/mt CFR.

Quotations of Russian seamless pipes from Tagmet (TMK Group) of 4"-8" grade B made to ASTM or GOST are being given to the Turkish market at about $1,050-1,080/mt CFR for November-December production.

Russian producer ChTPZ is offering November-December production seamless pipes, 2"-8" grade B made to ASTM or GOST, at about $970-1,000/mt CFR, while 1"-1 1/4" pipes are quoted at $1,280-1,300/mt CFR.

Import offers of seamless pipes from Romania (ArcelorMittal), 12"-14" of grade B made to ASTM, are being given to the Turkish market at $1,400-1,440/mt CPT, while 3"-10" pipes are quoted at around $1,370-1,380/mt CPT.
