Ukraine increases domestic consumption in 2006

According to the data released by the Ukrainian Association of Steel Traders, in 2006 steel consumption in Ukraine increased by 19 percent year on year to 7.5 million metric tons. In particular, during the period in question, the share of domestic supplies increased by 15 percent to 6.8 million metric tons, while the share of imports in Ukrainian steel consumption increased by 64 percent to 700,000 metric tons.
