UGMK: Ukraine to up rolled steel consumption by 15-16 percent in 2010

In 2010, Ukraine's consumption of rolled steel products is expected to increase by 15-16 percent year on year to about 5.7 million mt, said Ruslan Mazhinsky, marketing director of the trading and distribution company Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK), citing the company's marketing center as his source.

According to Mr. Mazhinsky, in the first half of 2010 the Ukrainian domestic market is seeing demand growth mainly in the flat rolled segment, while the demand for construction products remains in general almost at the level of the previous year.
