According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, in May this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 79 percent, decreasing by 2.6 percentage points compared to the previous month and up 1.2 percentage points compared to May 2011.
Meanwhile, in May of the current year the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 0.2 percentage points year on year to 70.6 percent, down slightly from 70.9 percent recorded in April.
The capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, was at 74.7 percent in May this year, remaining stable compared to April and down from 75.2 percent in May 2011.
