Turkey’s Toscelik resumes production at Osmaniye plant

Turkish steel producer Toscelik resumed production on Sunday, October 7, at its flat steel and construction steel plant in Osmaniye in southern Turkey, following the explosion at its electric arc furnace on Thursday, October 5 which caused injury to 18 workers, a Toscelik official told SteelOrbis.

Operations at the facility were temporarily suspended, while an investigation was launched to determine the cause of the explosion.

Tosçelik's Osmaniye plant has an annual crude steel output capacity of two million metric tons. The plant has a 170-mt electric arc furnace and a ladle furnace of the same capacity.
