Turkish motor vehicle output rises in January-September

According to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD), in September this year Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 111,769 units, increasing 12.2 percent year on year.

In September of the current year, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 65,451 units, up 20.5 percent year on year, while small truck production amounted to 38,111 units, down two percent compared to September 2012.

Meanwhile, in the first nine months of this year, the country's total motor vehicle output amounted to 840,396 units, increasing by 5.8 percent year on year. Passenger car output in the first nine months totaled 464,782 units, up 8.5 percent year on year, while commercial vehicle production stood at 375,614 units, up three percent compared to the corresponding period of 2012.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in September this year was 89 percent. In the first nine months of the year, the production capacity utilization rate was 74 percent.
