Turkish metal producers’ sales prices up 14.8% in January

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 0.38 percent over December and was up 11.13 percent year on year, while an average rise of 11.11 percent was registered for the latest twelve months.

In January, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry rose by 0.51 percent month on month and was up 14.82 percent compared to January 2011. Meanwhile, the average increase in the latest twelve months was 27.84 percent.

On the other hand, during the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, decreased by 0.62 percent from the previous month and was up 10.75 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 9.35 percent in the PPI index was registered in the latest twelve months.
