According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general fell by 1.49 percent over May and was up 6.4 percent year on year, while an average rise of 10.24 percent was registered for the latest twelve months.
In June, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry fell by 2.30 percent month on month and was down 0.17 percent compared to June 2011. Meanwhile, the average increase in the latest twelve months was 19.73 percent.
On the other hand, during the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, fell 0.19 percent compared to the previous month and was up 4.92 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 9.6 percent in the PPI index was registered in the latest twelve months.
