Turkish metal producers’ sales prices down 5.99% in Nov from Oct

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 0.65 percent over October and was up 13.67 percent year on year, while an average rise of 12.72 percent was registered for the latest twelve months.

In November, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry fell by 5.99 percent month on month and was up 29.16 percent compared to November 2010. Meanwhile, the average increase in the latest twelve months was 29.5 percent. In November, the highest month-on-month decrease in the PPI for industrial activity in Turkey was 6.63 percent in the index for the metal ore industry, following by the basic metal industry.

On the other hand, during the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, increased by 0.41 percent over the previous month and was up 14.5 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 7.69 percent in the PPI index was registered in the latest twelve months.
