Turkish metal manufacturing capacity usage falls in August

According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, in August this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 75.6 percent, falling 1.4 percentage points compared to the previous month and down 2.6 percentage points compared to August 2011.

Meanwhile, in August of the current year the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 2.2 percentage points year on year to 70.5 percent, down from 71.8 percent recorded in July.

The capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, was at 74.3 percent in August this year, indicating a slight increase of 0.5 percentage points compared to July and down from 76.1 percent in August 2011.
