Turkish metal manufacturing capacity usage at 78.8% in Jan

According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, in January this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 78.8 percent, increasing by 0.7 percentage points compared to January 2010 and up 0.9 percentage points compared to the previous month of December.
 
Meanwhile, in January of the current year the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 3.2 percentage points year on year reaching 70.8 percent - down from 71 percent recorded in December last year.
 
Capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, was at 74.7 percent in January this year, decreasing from 75.5 percent in December and indicating little change compared to 74.6 percent in January 2011.
