Turkey’s steel imports from China up 21.7 percent in January-August

As stated by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkey’s steel imports from China in the January-August period of this year rose by 21.7 percent on year-on-year basis to 1.83 million mt. 
 
In the first eight months of this year, Turkey’s billet imports from China increased by 86.6 percent year on year to 981,827. In the January-August period of this year, Turkey’s flat steel imports from China decreased by 42.9 percent to 336,392 mt, while its long steel imports from the same country were up by 78.2 percent to 235,263 mt, both on year-on-year basis.
