US scrap export volume in February almost unchanged year on year

According to the statistics released by the US International Trade Commission (US ITC), in February this year US scrap exports amounted to 1.81 million metric tons, slightly increasing by 0.28 percent year on year and up 78.39 percent over the previous month.
 
In February US scrap exports to China amounted to 372,369 metric tons, decreasing by 30.47 percent year on year and up 54 percent month on month. US scrap exports to Turkey in the month in question declined by 31.69 percent year on year and were up 134.97 percent compared to January, amounting to 189,479 metric tons.
 
Meanwhile, in the given month, US scrap exports to South Korea climbed by 279 percent month on month and 6.98 percent year on year, totaling 436,285 metric tons, while scrap exports to Taiwan amounted to 155,832 metric tons, down 5.15 percent month on month and up 24.47 percent compared to February 2009.
