Turkey’s chrome ore exports total 2.17 million mt in 2011

According to the data provided by Turkey's Mine Exporters' Association, in January this year Turkey's total chrome ore exports amounted to 157,982 metric tons, falling by 38.5 percent year on year and down 18 percent compared to the previous month of December. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $31.4 million, down by 35 percent compared to January 2011 and down 19 percent month on month.

In the whole of 2011, Turkey's chrome ore exports amounted to 2.17 million mt, falling four percent compared to 2010. Meanwhile, the total revenue generated by Turkey's chrome ore exports in 2011 came to $467.7 million, falling by 1.7 percent year on year.
